Campground Fires Banned Due To Extreme Dry Conditions

Dry conditions are making for a very dangerous fire risk County wide. All backcountry campfires have now been banned, including campground fire rings, until further notice, according to campground officials. “The year 2021 has turned out to be a dryer-than-usual year.”

Any one smoking a cigarette in the woods or backcountry in the Parks, which includes any off-road trails, is also prohibited due to the natural flammable material all around.

Campground rangers have placed marker flags even in the well-established fire rings, cautioning would-be campers from using the banned fire rings until further notice.

Fireworks are also frowned upon in any backcountry and campgrounds and one can be fined and or jailed for violations of the campground and park rules. The Park County Commissioners recently issued a fireworks ban to go into effect on July 5th 2021.
