Abused Child Section Investigating Cause Of Death

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Juvenile Division, Abused Child Section are investigating the death of a child.

On July 13, 2021, at around 12 p.m., investigators with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Juvenile Division, Abused Child Section were notified by medical staff of a child death.

The decedent, 18-month-old male, had been transported by Los Angeles City Fire Department from the 5600 block of S. Western Avenue, in medical distress, and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

An investigator with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office responded with Los Angeles Police Department’s Abused Child Section. The cause of death is pending.

This is an ongoing investigation.
