Wyoming GOP Responds To Cheney Rant

“Anytime Ms. Cheney wants to come and show us her “proof,” we’ll be here,…”

Below you’ll find a response from the Wyoming Republican Party to comments made by Representative Liz Cheney. Our Cheyenne office receives daily phone calls and emails regarding Ms. Cheney’s behavior as Wyoming’s lone Congressional Representative. She has not directly responded to citizens or the state party, instead choosing to publicly denounce the party and attack its leadership.

In addition, the liberal press rarely publishes press releases from the party. Hence, we share with our faithful email readers the following Wyoming GOP press release from January 7, 2022.

PRESS RELEASE

CHEYENNE, WYOMING – In light of Ms. Cheney’s recent rant attacking Republican party members and calling them “radicals,” we understand two straw polls will be held during the next SCC meeting on January 22nd: one to see who supports Ms. Cheney’s recent statement and who does not, and; a second one to determine who will be voting for Cheney, Hageman, Bouchard, and the other Republican candidates. Spoiler alert: the straw polls will very likely demonstrate the vast majority condemns her views and will be voting for someone else.

If Ms. Cheney wants to continue to pick a fight with the majority of Wyoming Republicans and accuse the vast majority of being deplorables and radicals, then of course she can continue that foolish ploy. She can also continue to engage in the politics of personal destruction with other Republicans – which is her specialty and only real qualification to sit on the farcical January 6th Commission – but that is unlikely to improve her position in the polls. CNN will not be able to sell that “deplorables” tripe in Wyoming and save Ms. Cheney from an embarrassing defeat.

Ms. Cheney is welcome to attend our January 22nd Republican Party meeting. We will have a chair waiting for her. We have invited her before, but she has not shown up. We don’t expect her to attend this time either since she practically has to sneak into the state unannounced to avoid picketers, protesters, and outraged constituents. In fact, her behavior suggests that she is afraid of her constituents. The Wyoming Republican Party is not. Anytime Ms. Cheney wants to come and show us her “proof,” we’ll be here, among Wyoming’s grassroots Republicans, who tell us that our Representative does not “represent” them. Further, any time she wants to debate Professor Dershowitz and explain how the professor is wrong, and she and her new Democrat friends did not violate President Trump’s constitutional rights six different ways with the rushed impeachment hoax, then we will arrange for that as well.

END OF PRESS RELEASE

It is a sad thing to see an elected official so at odds with the state party that in person meetings are not the means of discussion. We regularly invite all elected officials to meetings of the State Central Committee. Once again, we extend an invitation to Representative Cheney to attend the upcoming meeting and discuss her actions with those she purports to represent.

The 2022 elections will be a challenge and potentially a turning point for our great nation. If you wish to see strong conservative Republican values continue in Wyoming, please consider contributing.

Wyo Governor, Mark Gordon Petitions FWS To Delist Grizzly Bears

According to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department website, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon, kept a promise that he made back in September, 2021.

Governor Mark Gordon has officially petitioned the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) to remove the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem (GYE) population of grizzly bears from the Endangered Species List. The petition, filed with the support of Idaho and Montana, affirms that grizzly bears, by all measures, have been fully-recovered since 2003.

“This is an extraordinary and monumental success story for species recovery and should be celebrated,” Governor Mark Gordon said. “The GYE grizzly bear is ready to join the ranks of the bald eagle, American alligator, peregrine falcon and brown pelican as receiving proper recognition as a thriving, recovered and stable species.”

The Governor expressed his appreciation for the cooperative efforts of Montana and Idaho in making the petition possible. The two states, along with Wyoming, separately approved a modified Tri-State Memorandum of Agreement establishing new management targets and discretionary management practices to keep the bear population well-above the minimum recovery level following delisting and affirmed their commitment to the bear’s genetic health and diversity.

Governor Gordon reiterated there is no biological or legal reason to keep GYE grizzly listed. The states have applied the best-available population models, and the most current data shows grizzly bear populations have grown beyond the edges of the bear’s biological and socially suitable range. With refined population estimates, data shows the population numbers more than 1,000 bears in the GYE, far beyond all scientific requirements for a recovered, viable population.

“Grizzly bears in the GYE are fully recovered and their management is now best entrusted to the experienced and capable institutions of the states. After all, Wyoming has invested more than $52 million and dedicated countless hours of Game and Fish expertise to reach this point” Governor Gordon said. “We’re optimistic the Service will view the petition favorably, and we look forward to working with them on delisting.”

The USFWS has 90 days to review the petition. At that time the petition can be denied or approved for additional review. If that is the case, the FWS can take up to 12 months to further review and analyze the state’s request and come to a final decision.

A copy of the signed petition may be found here. A history of Wyoming’s grizzly bear management is available online.

Natrona County Schools Rhetorical Battle With Parents

By Seth Hancock
As previously reported, several parents addressed the Board of Education in the Natrona County School District at a Dec. 13 meeting reading excerpts from books at school libraries that graphically described sexual acts as well as promoting sodomy and homosexual lifestyles.

Some of those passages described underage prostitution and “accepting foreign objects as long as dudes are willing to pay the going rate,” and “tight pussies cost a pretty penny.”
dudes are willing to pay the going rate,” and “tight pussies cost a pretty penny.”

Board members later admitted the passages were graphic and objectionable but said there’s a process for reviewing the books as a whole.

At the Jan. 10 meeting, Superintendent Mike Jennings said the district reached out to some of those parents and has begun the process of reviewing those books.

“We have a very professional staff that works diligently to make sure that the materials that we have are the age appropriate,” Jennings said. “And so, NCSD does delegate the authority for the selection of materials for libraries to those professionals, and we have a process in regulation that if there is material that is viewed as inappropriate or controversial topics we have a process for that.”

However, the board heard another long evening of public comments lasting nearly an hour and a half with nearly 30 public comments made.

This meeting, a majority came to express support for the district and accused those with concerns as desiring censorship.

In total, 17 comments were made, including from 7 students, who said it is generally the job of the government schools to determine what children are exposed to.

One parent, Katherine Morris, did admit some of the passages were offensive, but the books
“should stay on the shelves and be available to students.” She did agree that the book “Gender Queer” should be removed because it was mostly an illustrative book which included pornographic images, but she said its important that books that affirm the homosexual lifestyle are available

“They address fears and critical issues such as mental health, high rates of depression, self-harm, addiction and suicide which is life threatening and common among this group,” Morris said. One student suggested so-called “professional” educators should be determining what materials students should be exposed to.

“Once parents have the authority to manipulate education in response to personal opinions, the future of society becomes one-sided,” that student claimed.

What should be noted is the government is doing the manipulation when it controls education.

While those who supported the objectionable books remaining accused the other side of
censorship, many admitted there were books they would not want in libraries thus admitting they are for censorship as well.

Clark Jensen, the board’s vice president, accused parents with concerns at the December meeting of not acting Christlike. Dan Odell, pastor at Christ United Methodist Church in Casper, referred to himself as a “leader” and agreed with Jensen stating that Christians should be compassionate and not promote gospel principles.

“I just want to say that they’re not speaking on behalf of all of Christianity,” Odell judged those who had concerns with the books. “They’re not speaking on behalf of all of the religious leaders in this community.

And as a religious leader, I’d like to remind them and all of us, my neighbors, that Jesus also said to love your neighbor.”

However, there were 10 public comments made continuing to address concerns.

Sarah Bieber, a mother, thanked the district for its “prompt response” to the Dec. 13 concerns, but addressed Jensen’s judgement that those parents were not acting Christlike.

“Have you forgotten righteous anger that is demanded of all of us?” Bieber asked. She also
referenced board member Dana Howie who said the public shouldn’t assume the board knows what books are in the libraries.

Bieber noted Board Policy 3200 which requires all expenditures to come before the board and said: “It is literally your job to know what you are spending our
money on.”

Both Bieber and Jeanette Ward, a mother, referenced Matthew 18:6 in which Jesus says: “But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in Me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”

“Why have we placed these things before children and become a party to their destruction? I
cannot imagine these lists of books were not placed before you for your approval,” Ward said.

“If they were not approved by the board, why did they not come to the board for approval? What steps can be taken to ensure these do come before you for approval?”

Ward added: “I do appreciate the steps that are being taken to investigate. Know that we will
follow up. Zeal for our children has consumed us.”

Train Strikes Missoula Police Car

City of Missoula Police Department advised all law enforcement to be on the lookout for a vehicle and suspect believed to be involved in an armed robbery within Missoula City limits on the evening of January 11, 2022.

Missoula County Sheriff’s Deputies located the vehicle near the Bonner Town Pump at approximately 6:40p.m. Soon afterwards the suspect led Deputies, City of Missoula Police Department and Montana Highway Patrol vehicles on a pursuit on Highway 10 East. The pursuit ended near I-90 and the Turah exit when law enforcement disabled the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to Missoula County Detention Facility.

Following the pursuit and apprehension of the suspect, an unoccupied City of Missoula Police Department vehicle, that was parked nearby where the incident concluded, was struck by an oncoming train. No other vehicles were involved in the train collision and no one was injured.

Missoula Rural Fire and Emergency Medical Personnel also assisted with the incident.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing. More information will be provided as it becomes available.

Military Denied Every Religious Exemption from Shot Mandate

TAMPA, FL — As a result of Liberty Counsel’s case, Navy SEAL 1 v. Biden, Florida federal judge Steven Merryday ordered each branch of the military to file a detailed report regarding religious exemptions from the COVID-19 shot every 14 days beginning Friday, January 7, 2022. The filings received by the court last week show that out of 21,342 requests received, zero exemptions have been granted, and many have been denied at the final appeal stage. The reports confirm Liberty Counsel’s argument that the religious exemptions are a ruse with the inevitable result that everyone is being denied.

Liberty Counsel represents plaintiffs from five branches of the military, federal employees, and federal civilian contractors who have been unlawfully mandated to get the COVID shots or face punishment and discharge from the military or termination from employment.

The declarations by each military branch state that branch-level numbers are not precise until a certain point and there may be other numbers that have not been disclosed in this filing.

The statistics from the reports for each branch include:
Army:
Requests: 2,064
Exemptions: 0
Denied after Sincerity: 115
Appeals: none adjudicated
Medical Granted: 5 permanent, 4 temporary, numerous pending

Air Force:
Requests: 10,973
Exemptions: 0
Denied: 2,387
Appeals Denied: 235
Medical Granted: 1,723

Navy:
Requests: 3,711
Exemptions: 0
Denials (after presumed sincere): 3,484
Appeals Denied: none finally adjudicated
Medical Granted: 303 temporary, 8 permanent

Marines:
Requests: 3,192
Granted: 0
Denied after Sincerity: 3,080
Final Appeals Denied: 79
Medical Approved: 419 temporary, 17 permanent

Coast Guard:
Requests:1303
Exemptions: 0
Denied after Sincerity: 226
Appeals Denied: none finally adjudicated
Medical Exemptions: 6

TOTALS:
Requests: 21,342 requests received
Exemptions Granted: ZERO
Denied After Sincerity: 6,905 (with some branches not tracking)
Medical Granted: 2,485

On October 15, 2021, Liberty Counsel sued Joseph R. Biden, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and U.S. Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas on behalf of members from five branches of the military, federal employees and civilian contractors who have been unlawfully discriminated against regarding religious exemptions and accommodations from the COVID shot mandate.

Liberty Counsel will renew its request to the federal court to issue an injunction.

Last week, a Texas federal judge granted a temporary injunction in a separate lawsuit for 35 Navy SEALs who were unlawfully denied religious exemptions from the unconstitutional federal COVID-19 shot mandate. These SEALs collectively have more than 350 years of military service and more than 100 combat deployments but were told they could face court-martial or involuntary separation if they don’t receive the shots. The court also found that even if a person’s religious exemption was granted, the service member would still be considered medically disqualified and thus un-deployable.

Despite the pending lawsuits, the Navy announced last week that it has already removed the first group of sailors from the service for not getting the COVID-19 shot. The group, which included 20 sailors who had just entered active service, were removed via entry-level separations, causing them to be separated during their first 180 days. On Dec. 15, Navy commanders were ordered to begin the separation process for sailors who declined to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver said: “The filings by the military branches prove that they continue to ignore the law by denying every religious exemption request from the COVID shots. Service members are continually threatened with discharge, loss of pay and benefits, and repayment of educational and training costs. Liberty Counsel looks forward to returning to court to stop this unlawful treatment of our military heroes.” Liberty Counsel is a public law firm and a news partner with the Wyoming News.
