The Battle For The Greasy Grass

By Marc Kelley

Over the past decades, the people of America had heard a great deal about how the descendants of slaves, brought to the US against their will, are entitled to reparations for the atrocities committed and the profits gained by the slave owners. While this point of view is certainly acknowledged and there can be no question, our country was built with the blood, sweat, and tears of many; who was for far too long, considered less than human. However, this is only one chapter in the history of America and African-Americans are not alone in their suffering. June 25, 2022, marks 146 years since the great battle which Native Americans call, “The Battle for the Greasy Grass” and what our Government calls the “Custer Massacre.”

In 1851, The US Congress created the “1851 Indian Appropriations Act” which allocated the funds needed to move Western Native Americans onto reservations. There are differing accounts as to why our Government felt the need to create these reservations, and if the truth be told, many believe it was nothing short of the ignorance of racism, which drove the process. The first explanation for this legislation was, that the People of America (our politicians) felt the Natives’ control of land and natural resources posed a threat to westward expansion and their intended economic goals. The second reason cited for the act was the concept native people living under their own form of law, and not covered by U.S. jurisdiction, would unintentionally, but naturally, conflict with the Rights of U.S. citizens. However, the most utilized explanation for the creation of the legislation was the idea, that Native people must be resettled onto reservations for “their own protection.” Thus, giving birth to the long-held untruth, of our leaders….I’m from the Government and I’m here to help you.

The discovery of gold in Colorado in 1859, kicked off what is known as the Pikes Peak Gold Rush. Following their dream of striking it rich in the mountains of the West, huge numbers of white settlers flooded into Colorado, Montana, and South Dakota. This rapid expansion by miners, ranchers, and settlers led to increasing conflicts with the Native people who had lived on the land for centuries. While many nations engaged in battles with the white man, none were more fierce or more feared than the warriors of the Sioux Nation. Led by resolute leaders: Red Cloud, Crazy Horse, and Sitting Bull, the Lakota Nation would do their best to preserve the way of life they had known for 15,000 years.

In 1868 the U.S. Government entered into a treaty with the collective, Sioux Nation. The 1868 treaty, established what would be known as, The Great Sioux Reservation and set aside large areas west of the Missouri River; as well as, designating the sacred Black Hills of South Dakota, as “unceded Indian Territory, not to be encroached upon, by the U.S. Government, “so long as the grass grows and the water flows.” However, in 1874, gold was once again discovered and a new gold rush would begin on the sacred land our Government promised to the Native people. As more and more miners and settlers moved into the Black Hills, the confrontation between the White man and the Natives was inevitable. Ultimately, the truth was revealed, our government had no intention of honoring its agreement and there was no more land available for another forced relocation of our Native People. In what is considered too little, too late, our Government offered to buy the Black Hills from the Sioux Nation and when the Sioux refused the offer, the Government reclaimed the land and issued the ultimatum threatening war unless the Lakota returned to their Reservation by January 31, 1876.

In late 1875, the Sioux and Northern Cheyenne People defiantly left the reservation and gathered in Montana, led by the great Sitting Bull and motivated by a vision in which he saw “soldiers as thick as grasshoppers, falling upside-down into the Lakota camp.” Sitting Bull told his people this vision foretold of a great Lakota victory in which “many soldiers would be killed.” By the time spring arrived, the warriors had twice defeated the U.S. Calvary and they were confident, that their fight was just and victory would, in fact, be theirs. In response to what the government labeled an “Indian uprising”, the U.S. 7th Cavalry was dispatched from Fort Riley, Kansas, with orders to return the Sioux people to their reservation.

On June 25, 1876, cavalry scouts spotted the Sioux encampment, and reports were sent back indicating approximately 800 Sioux members, were bivouacked at the location. Plans were drawn up for a three-column attack on the village. One group was led by Colonel Marcus Reno, a second by Colonel Fredrick Benteen, and the third by Lt. Colonel George Custer. The plan called for a concentrated attack by all three squadrons of calvary and orders were given to the officers, not to engage the warriors until everyone was in place. However, when Custer’s unit located what he believed to be the main force of Sioux Warriors and estimated their strength at less than 100, he sent Colonel Benteen’s unit to assume a blocking position and prevent a retreat by the warriors. At the same time, Custer ordered Colonel Marcus Reno and his 175 men to attack from the southern end of the encampment while he and his 210 men would attack from the north, in a classic pincer maneuver.

The failures which accompanied Custer’s leadership, on that fateful day in June, were created by his own hand. Insufficient reconnaissance of the surrounding topography, dividing his forces, and a gross underestimation of the strength of his advisory, would prove to be catastrophic. As Reno’s unit attacked from the south, they quickly found themselves outnumbered and within ten minutes halted their attack and withdrew. Just as the Sioux drove Reno’s men out of their village, Custer and his 210 men were spotted beginning their attack from the North. In what could only be considered the worst possible terrain, from which to fight, Custer and his men were quickly surrounded. Having no cover, no ability to withdraw, and outnumbered three to one, Custer ordered his men to shoot their horses and pile the carcasses to form a wall that would provide their only cover. In less than an hour, Custer and 267 men under his command would be killed, in what has been called the greatest military blunder in U.S. history.

After the battle was over, the warriors stripped and mutilated the bodies of the uniformed soldiers, believing the soul of a mutilated body would be left to walk the earth for eternity and not ascend to heaven. Custer himself was not mutilated, nor was he scalped; but rather, his body was left on the battlefield, unmolested. Many historians believe the reason the Sioux Warriors did not desecrate Custer’s body was a simple case of misidentification. At the time of his death, Custer was not wearing the traditional blue U.S. Cavalry uniform, but rather was dressed in buckskins, leading to the belief he was but an innocent bystander, rather than a U.S. Soldier. As word of the defeat spread the media of the day posited, that Custer was not mutilated out of the warrior’s respect for his fighting ability. While this romantic notion is great for storytelling, the truth of the matter is, that the treatment given to the Native Americans by our government left little room for respect.

The Battle of the Little Bighorn represented the apex of Native American power. They had achieved their greatest victory over their oppressors, but victory would be short-lived. Outraged by the death of Custer, the nation demanded retribution. The Black Hills were quickly settled and placed outside reservation boundary lines. The Sioux Nation was broken and defeated, history recorded the battle not as a great victory for the Native people; but rather, a massacre of U.S. forces.

In 2022, no one has called for reparations for the Native people or their land. If the truth were to be told, there is no such thing as restorative justice. Money in and of itself, will not heal the wounds of hate or dry the tears of oppression. Only when we as one people, can come together and begin to treat each other with dignity and respect, in all walks of life, will these wounds begin to heal. No one can make up for the horrible things which happened 150 or 200 years ago in our country. Rather than yelling and pointing fingers at one another, we all could learn from the words of Lakota Chief and Holy Man, Sitting Bull, who nearly 150 years ago this week, said “Let us put our minds together and see what life we can make for our children.”

Christian Business Under Assault For Its Public Faith

Written by: Pastor Andrew Isker

A Christian-owned business is being viciously attacked for plans to hold an event about Christian engagement in politics. For the past several days, there has been a social media firestorm over a Christian-owned restaurant and brewery in Ephrata, Pennsylvania planning to host lectures on the founding of Pennsylvania as an explicitly Christian state and what that fact means for contemporary politics.

The business’s social media erupted with a torrent of left-wing outrage. Other businesses have begun to refuse to serve the brewery’s popular beer. And local politicians are eager to do whatever they can to take this business down. This controversy is the most important story in Christendom right now because the question of whether small, Christian-owned businesses can exist and operate as Christian in public in America is being answered.

That attention was being called to the undeniable Christian heritage of one of America’s earliest colonies is unacceptable to masses animated by a demonic ideology. In the local liberal rag, the repugnant journalist is forced to admit that, yes, indeed, Pennsylvania required its public officials to be Christians and to profess the divine inspiration of the Old and New Testaments. But, he notes, clauses like that in State Constitutions were struck down by the United States Supreme Court “almost 50 years ago” and the Pennsylvania State Constitution was amended to remove it in 1968. Weird! What a coincidence that you can almost trace the decline of the country to that very period!

The local, anti-Christian, globalist rag, as it attempts to gin up even more left-wing outrage, even brought in notorious liberal Baptist leader Amanda Tyler, a favorite of the occupational D.C. regime, to comment on the very dangerous threat of Christian Nationalism. Tyler predictably brought up ridiculous secularist canards like the U.S. Constitution’s prohibition of religious tests for Federal office asserting that its existence requires the kind of apostate Christian pluralism that began to take hold in the post-WWII period that liberals who hate Jesus love. What is the problem with this assertion? The story had already admitted the Pennsylvania Constitution’s religious test antedated the U.S. Constitution and remained in place for over 150 years after the U.S. Constitution was ratified!

What does this mean? Right up until 1968 Pennsylvania was an explicitly Christian state. How many people were even aware of this!? This is what the demonic, antiChristian ideology requires: total historical ignorance. They want everyone to believe the way things are are the way they have always been. Their ideology cannot hold power unless the entire populace believes we have always been in the atheistic, materialist, secularist “utopia” and that any suggestion that this might not be the best way to live (much less a revolution against the way our ancestors have always lived for millennia!) is extremely dangerous Christian Nationalism.

But the irony, as you look at the summary of the whole controversy by the anti-Christian press, is that they have to admit that the “dangerous Christian Nationalism” espoused by the speakers of the event is what pretty much everyone believed right up until 1968. There are people still alive who were well into adulthood and who still remember life before this!

What this controversy shows is that the battle over the soul of our nation is not over. The anti-Christian left believes that they have totally and conclusively won. They believe Godless Globalism has defeated Christian Nationalism. And when a restaurant & craft brewery announces they are going to host an event that questions the dominance of Godless Globalism and asks “maybe it might be good to go back to the way it was before our country was a disgusting trash heap?” just to ask the question is a signal that demonic, secular left-wing ideology is not as all-powerful as they think. If to ask the question if maybe it would be better to have an explicitly Christian country causes such outrage, the lady doth protest too much. They have to react this way to a challenge to their power or else the entire house of cards is exposed.

Therefore, it is the duty of Christians to do whatever we can to support and encourage our brothers who have stepped out in faith. If you live in such a way that you proclaim Christ as King over everything, even the King over America, you will be labeled with Bolshevik slurs like “Christian Nationalist.” These brothers of ours who have challenged the demonic power of the regime are paying a great price for it. There is a chance they could lose everything they have spent their lives building.

This is precisely the kind of persecution Christians are going to face as a hostile culture is threatened by the name of Jesus Christ. The truth is “our democracy” (whatever that is) really is threatened by Him. What they call “Christian Nationalism,” which is really just the fact that Jesus Christ has ascended to the right hand of God the Father to rule heaven and earth, is a great threat to the globalist regime. The more they reject Him and His rule over the planet, the more that simple faith and devotion to Christ and His Word is utterly intolerable to them. You are either loyal to the “democracy” of Liz Cheney and Admiral “Rachel” Levine or, to Jesus Christ. Christ’s enemies are pushing the antithesis. It is time we pushed back.

The best way that you can support Tied House and St. Boniface Craft Brewing, if you are not able to visit and patronize their businesses in person (and if you haven’t yet deleted your Zuckerface data-harvesting accounts), is to counter the deluge of left-wing hate on their company’s Facebook pages, here and here. Social media has a far bigger effect than you realize.

The two minutes of hate that they are receiving because the media has summoned a legion of deranged libs is demoralizing and is something that could put them out of business. Just the act of going on there, voicing your support of them and their business, and countering the lies has a massive effect, too. If employees and owners and patrons know the silent majority is on their side, they won’t give up and they will not surrender to leftwing maniacs. You can make a massive difference just by supporting this business as they are attacked on all sides. Do not let the leftist mob win!

What Makes Eli Run?

Eli Shkarofsky won his very first running competition. It was a 5k race organized by the Special Children’s Center in Lakewood NJ. The following year he placed first again.

After his second win, Eli, a 26-year-old bachelor who volunteers for camps that provide emotional and financial support to families and children with rare conditions and diseases, was asked by his long-time camper, Refael Boyer, 14, if he’d push him in a wheelchair during the next race.

“Everyone was telling me, ‘Don’t lose your chance for winning first place. It’s not worth it. You have real potential here,’” Eli said in an Aish.com interview. “But I was still inclined to do it.”

A running coach who was impressed with Eli and wanted to train him, discouraged him from running with Refael. “With your potential, you could be the best out there. But I won’t train you if you push the chair.”

Eli declined the offer, ignored the naysayers and agreed to race with Refael.

Together, they came in first place.

Long before the race, Eli reached out to many organizations searching for a running chair to borrow. Ultimately, Ainsley Angels, lent a chair to Eli for him to train with.

“The first time I put Refael in the chair he was so happy. He was literally bouncing with joy and could barely contain himself. We trained together a few times a week for The Center Run. On the day of the race Refael said, “I want to come in first place.”

Eli laughed and said, “I can do my best, but I can’t promise.”

During the race Refael kept yelling, “Quicker, quicker!”

Refael’s words infused Eli with the strength to keep going and ultimately win the race, proving everyone wrong.

Eli isn’t the only person proving others wrong. Refael was born with extreme club feet and has a condition where his muscles are either nonexistent or extremely weak. He’s had multiple surgeries and the doctors predicted Refael would never walk.

Despite all odds, Refael is able to walk with braces. With a lot of hard work and therapy Refael overcame many hurdles and is mobile. “He may be somewhat delicate,” Eli said, “but he’s out and about like other kids.”

“Competing in a marathon together requires teamwork. Even though I’m the one running, Refael has to sit for very long stretches and sometimes in extreme weather conditions.”

Pushing the chair definitely slows Eli down, but seeing the happiness on Refael’s face motivates him to continue. “Sometimes I’m not in the mood to train, but seeing how happy it makes Refael makes me happy and gives me energy to push through.”

Covid Brought Them Together

When Covid hit, Refael’s parents asked Eli if he’d be willing to move in during Passover in order to help out. He agreed and ended up extending his stay for three months to help them.

“Refael literally had nothing to do all day so I decided that it would be a perfect opportunity to train together. I reached out to a couple friends and raised the money to purchase the chair from Ainsley’s Angels at a discounted price. That’s when we started training. Every Sunday we did a virtual half marathon because of Covid. The neighbors made finish lines out of balloons and we even had a police escort for one of the marathons.

I helped Refael get through Covid, but Refael got me through it too.”

They tackled the YETI 24-hour challenge. “You run five miles every four hours for 24 hours straight. This race messes with your mind because by the time you recover you have to start again.” They started Saturday night and finished in 22 hours.

Refael’s parents asked him if wanted to skip the nocturnal portion of the race, but Refael adamantly refused.

Eli said, “Ever since we started running, Refael has begun to work out seriously. He does push-ups, sit ups, planks, and uses small weights to incorporate as much fitness as he can into his day. On a Kids of Courage ski trip, the group had to leave at 6 AM. Refael woke up at 5AM to complete his workout beforehand.”

Refael and Eli do spartan races with an organization called Climb for Life. Refael trains daily with the organization’s Grit Freedom Chair that has two bars on the side, enabling Refael to move the chair himself. If Refael is consistent with his strength training Eli believes he’ll be able to complete his own marathon one day. The duo are currently raising money to try to secure another chair for the organization.

What’s Next on the Horizon

Eli and Refael hope to compete in a triathlon which consists of running, swimming, and biking.

Eli has a goal to raise money to purchase a chair that can be attached to a bike so Refael can be pulled. The chair cost $5,000 – a hefty sum, but Eli is determined to enable Refael to participate in the triathlon one way or another.

This past Sunday there was a bikeathon for The Center that Refael wanted to join. Since Eli didn’t have the chair, they ran it instead, successfully completing the 25-mile bikeathon that stretched from Deal to Lakewood.

Eli is inspired by the overwhelming support they receive from the running community. Everyone honks, cheers and high fives them. They were recently featured in the sports magazine Runners World

While Eli and Refael give each other strength and purpose, they’re inspiring us all.

Bike for Chai is taking place August 18th and Eli is trying to raise funds for the required chair. Click here to make a donation.

Science Enters the Mysterious Inner World of Consciousness

0

[ad_1]

Explaining how something as complex as consciousness can emerge from a grey, jelly-like lump of tissue in the head is arguably the greatest scientific challenge of our time. The brain is an extraordinarily complex organ, consisting of almost 100 billion cells – known as neurons – each connected to 10,000 others, yielding some ten trillion nerve connections.

We have made a great deal of progress in understanding brain activity, and how it contributes to human behavior. But what no one has so far managed to explain is how all of this results in feelings, emotions and experiences. How does the passing around of electrical and chemical signals between neurons result in a feeling of pain or an experience of red?

There is growing suspicion that conventional scientific methods will never be able answer these questions. Luckily, there is an alternative approach that may ultimately be able to crack the mystery.

For much of the 20th century, there was a great taboo against querying the mysterious inner world of consciousness – it was not taken to be a fitting topic for “serious science”. Things have changed a lot, and there is now broad agreement that the problem of consciousness is a serious scientific issue. But many consciousness researchers underestimate the depth of the challenge, believing that we just need to continue examining the physical structures of the brain to work out how they produce consciousness.

The problem of consciousness, however, is radically unlike any other scientific problem. One reason is that consciousness is unobservable. You can’t look inside someone’s head and see their feelings and experiences. If we were just going off what we can observe from a third-person perspective, we would have no grounds for postulating consciousness at all.

We know that consciousness exists not through experiments but through our immediate awareness of our feelings and experiences.

Of course, scientists are used to dealing with unobservables. Electrons, for example, are too small to be seen. But scientists postulate unobservable entities in order to explain what we observe, such as lightning or vapor trails in cloud chambers. But in the unique case of consciousness, the thing to be explained cannot be observed. We know that consciousness exists not through experiments but through our immediate awareness of our feelings and experiences.

So how can science ever explain it? When we are dealing with the data of observation, we can do experiments to test whether what we observe matches what the theory predicts. But when we are dealing with the unobservable data of consciousness, this methodology breaks down. The best scientists are able to do is to correlate unobservable experiences with observable processes, by scanning people’s brains and relying on their reports regarding their private conscious experiences.

By this method, we can establish, for example, that the invisible feeling of hunger is correlated with visible activity in the brain’s hypothalamus. But the accumulation of such correlations does not amount to a theory of consciousness. What we ultimately want is to explain why conscious experiences are correlated with brain activity. Why is it that such activity in the hypothalamus comes along with a feeling of hunger?

In fact, we should not be surprised that our standard scientific method struggles to deal with consciousness. As I explore in my new book, Galileo’s Error: Foundations for a New Science of Consciousness, modern science was explicitly designed to exclude consciousness.

Before the “father of modern science” Galileo Galilei, scientists believed that the physical world was filled with qualities, such as colors and smells. But Galileo wanted a purely quantitative science of the physical world, and he therefore proposed that these qualities were not really in the physical world but in consciousness, which he stipulated was outside of the domain of science.

This worldview forms the backdrop of science to this day. And so long as we work within it, the best we can do is to establish correlations between the quantitative brain processes we can see and the qualitative experiences that we can’t, with no way of explaining why they go together.

Mind is matter

I believe there is a way forward, an approach that’s rooted in work from the 1920s by the philosopher Bertrand Russell and the scientist Arthur Eddington. Their starting point was that physical science doesn’t really tell us what matter is.

This may seem bizarre, but it turns out that physics is confined to telling us about the behavior of matter. For example, matter has mass and charge, properties which are entirely characterized in terms of behavior – attraction, repulsion and resistance to acceleration. Physics tells us nothing about what philosophers like to call “the intrinsic nature of matter”, how matter is in and of itself.

The result is a type of “panpsychism” – an ancient view that consciousness is a fundamental and ubiquitous feature of the physical world.

It turns out, then, that there is a huge hole in our scientific world view – physics leaves us completely in the dark about what matter really is. The proposal of Russell and Eddington was to fill that hole with consciousness.

The result is a type of “panpsychism” – an ancient view that consciousness is a fundamental and ubiquitous feature of the physical world. But the “new wave” of panpsychism lacks the mystical connotations of previous forms of the view. There is only matter – nothing spiritual or supernatural – but matter can be described from two perspectives. Physical science describes matter “from the outside”, in terms of its behavior, but matter “from the inside” is constituted of forms of consciousness.

This means that mind is matter, and that even elementary particles exhibit incredibly basic forms of consciousness. Before you write that off, consider this. Consciousness can vary in complexity. We have good reason to think that the conscious experiences of a horse are much less complex than those of a human being, and that the conscious experiences of a rabbit are less sophisticated than those of a horse. As organisms become simpler, there may be a point where consciousness suddenly switches off – but it’s also possible that it just fades but never disappears completely, meaning even an electron has a tiny element of consciousness.

Physical science describes matter “from the outside”, in terms of its behaviour, but matter “from the inside” is constituted of forms of consciousness.

What panpsychism offers us is a simple, elegant way of integrating consciousness into our scientific worldview. Strictly speaking it cannot be tested; the unobservable nature of consciousness entails that any theory of consciousness that goes beyond mere correlations is not strictly speaking testable. But I believe it can be justified by a form of inference to the best explanation: panpsychism is the simplest theory of how consciousness fits in to our scientific story.

While our current scientific approach offers no theory at all – only correlations – the traditional alternative of claiming that consciousness is in the soul leads to a profligate picture of nature in which mind and body are distinct. Panpsychism avoids both of these extremes, and this is why some of our leading neuroscientists are now embracing it as the best framework for building a science of consciousness.

I am optimistic that we will one day have a science of consciousness, but it won’t be science as we know it today. Nothing less than a revolution is called for, and it’s already on its way.

Editor’s note: Professor Goff suggests that “panpsychism lacks the mystical connotations of previous forms of the view.” Here I’d like to just add that whatever the word “mystical” refers to I don’t believe that the Jewish view ever considered mind and body to be made from anything but the same primal substance. Much as Einstein demonstrated that light (energy) and matter are ultimately one and the same, so too is physicality a “condensed” aspect of “spiritual” energy. There need not be any conflict. What was once called mystical is today’s scientific fact and I believe that as time goes by there will be more and more of a convergence of thinking in the scientific, philosophical, and theological worlds. Indeed, from my vantage point, the contemporary rediscovery of panpsychism is one positive step in that direction.

BBQ Bourbon Cheese Kugel Recipe

0

[ad_1]

If you’re looking for a comforting dish to bring the spirit of your Ashkenazi ancestors along to your upcoming Fourth of July picnic, I’ve got the kugel for you.

The journey to this recipe started from a very non-Jewish place––the Kentucky Derby. I don’t know about you, but generally abusing horses to run in a circle for the unlikely chance to win a piece of the $3 million purse doesn’t strike me as a very Jewish thing.

Some friends who used to live in Louisville, Kentucky were hosting a little get together for the occasion. Rather than morosely remind attendees that so much as a twisted ankle might get the horse euthanized, I decided to make the most of it by bringing a homemade dish. But what to make?

Mac and cheese is, for better or worse, a go-to staple of Southern cuisine. I thought of other go-tos of the Southern palate, like barbecue sauce and bourbon. Remarkably, I couldn’t find a recipe that blended all of the above. In an era when hundreds of years worth of varying culinary traditions are often thoughtlessly blended together in the name of fusion, I was surprised.

So, I set out to make my own recipe. I started with inspiration from Jake Cohen’s Jew-ish cookbook. Among his kugel recipes he includes a cheese kugel with rosemary and thyme––and it really makes the dish stand out. They’re two spices that pair nicely with smoky flavors, like certain smoked cheeses and barbecue sauce.

In the recipe they went.

Next, I turned to the Internet and YouTube for different ideas on how to build my cheese kugel. For ease, I went with starting a roux (butter and flour cooked together) before layering it with cream, bourbon, and then barbecue sauce. Everything goes into the same pot or skillet.

Then come the cheeses. I’m a fan of mozzarella and cheddar, which happen to be commonplace in mac and cheese or cheese kugel recipes anyhow. What was missing from this recipe was a smoked cheese. I opted for gouda, but as long as you keep the proportion of cheese to noodle the same, you can experiment to your heart’s content.

Speaking of noodles, I use wide egg noodles, which are common with kugels. Once everything is mixed together, add a couple of eggs to help bind everything. Then, cover the dish with matzo meal and even more cheese before throwing it into the oven until the top gets crispy golden brown. Serve and await the flood of praise as friends pick out the different flavors of cheese, rosemary, barbecue sauce, and notes from your bourbon of choice.

Prep time: 30 minutes
Cook time: 35 minutes
Serves: 8
INGREDIENTS

  • Kosher salt
  • 225 grams (2¾ cups) cheddar cheese
  • 112 grams (1¼ cup) smoked gouda
  • 112 grams (1¼ cup) fresh mozzarella cheese
  • 45 grams (6 tablespoons) all-purpose flour
  • 76 grams (⅓ cup) unsalted butter, plus more for greasing the baking dish
  • 295 ml (1¼ cup) milk
  • 160 ml (2¾ cups)cream
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary
  • ½ teaspoon thyme
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ⅓ cup BBQ sauce
  • ⅓ cup bourbon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 255 g (9-ounces) wide egg noodles
  • ¼ cup matzo meal or panko

PREPARATION

  1. Start by cubing your mozzarella and shredding your cheddar cheese and smoked gouda. Keep to the side. Then combine milk and cream in a measuring glass.
  2. Fill up a large pot with water and place on the stovetop, covered over high heat. Move on to the next steps while you wait for it to boil.
  3. Begin your roux by melting the butter over medium-high heat in a large skillet or dutch oven. Once the butter starts to sizzle, lower to a medium heat and slowly add in your flour, whisking thoroughly for 1-2.
  4. Once the flour smells toasty, slowly whisk in your milk and cream mixture. Keep whisking until it thickens. This should take around 5 minutes.
  5. If your water is boiling by now, salt the water generously with kosher salt and add your egg noodles for about 8 or 9 minutes.
  6. Start preheating your oven to 370°F.
  7. Turn your attention back to your roux. Add your bourbon, continuing to whisk thoroughly while it simmers and burns off some of the alcohol. As it simmers, add your seasoning of rosemary, thyme, cayenne pepper, nutmeg, kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Once the seasoning is incorporated, add the barbecue sauce and continue whisking until it starts to thicken again, about 5 minutes.
  8. Lower the heat so that the mix is no longer simmering. Switch out your whisk for a straight spatula. Gradually add in the mozarella and then the smoked gouda and cheddar cheese. Save some of the smoked gouda and cheddar for topping. Stir for about 5 minutes until everything is melted and gooey.
  9. When your egg noodles are just about al dente, add them into your cheese mixture. Remove the dish from the heat and combine everything together. Allow it to cool down enough that you could comfortably put your finger in the middle. Then, add your eggs and mix vigorously.
  10. Once your kugel is ready, place into a greased baking dish and use the spatula to flatten/smooth the top. Cover/sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese and smoked gouda along with matzo meal or panko.
  11. After the cheese is evenly coated on top, place the baking dish into the 370°F preheated oven for about 35 minutes until crispy golden brown.
  12. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Liz Cheney Backs Taking Guns AWAY From Wyoming Gun Owners

0

Wyoming News reported for 6 months that Liz Cheney IS an ENEMY OF THE STATE of Wyoming and has demonstrated this to her voting constituents in the state of Wyoming.

This time, Liz Chenery voted with her fellow radical anti-American Democrats in favor of one of the most restrictive gun control bills in the history of the United States.  Unfortunately, Cheney has joined the ilk of 13 other House Republicans.  This 80-page bill allows for massive financial spending, which will enable red flag laws to be implemented by virtually anyone who has a beef with another.

The bill allows states to allow police or family members to request any court to keep a person’s constitutional-owned gun without the person being able to fight his accusers in court.

Cheney spews that she is a mother and a constitutional conservative.  The public is aware that she is a mother, but the public is also cognizant that nowhere does Liz Cheney fit into a conservative constitutional category.  So Liz Cheney lies to the Wyoming voters once again.

Cheney went on to state that she would always protect the Second Amendment.   Once again, Liz Cheney lied to the Wyoming voters again.

Cheney has outright denied that if the teachers or armed to stop an active school shooter, we would not have Ugalde or Sandy Hook incidents.  Instead, Cheney wants to provide more money to law enforcement and funding for mental health resources.

Cheney had to face two Wyoming senators who voted against the bill, but she could not even look them in the eye.

Cheney was encouraged by Pelosi and Schumer to vote with the Democrats to help the Socialist reset agenda.

Liz Cheney has already ruined her career as a politician in Wyoming, as the voters in mass will overwhelmingly send the most hated woman packing.   The heavy backlash Cheney facing at the polls will be deafening.   Liz Cheney is already losing to President Donald J Trump’s endorsed Harriet Hageman.

Harriet Hageman stated to the Wyoming News that Liz Cheney certainly isn’t using her podium to represent the views and values of the people of Wyoming.   Hageman stated.

Liz Cheney is the most hated woman in Wyoming.  She is not safe politically in Wyoming, as she will be held accountable by her constituents, who will vote her OUT!

“In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way.” -Franklin D. Roosevelt A day after the overturning (We are being told) of Roe vs Wade, I had seen a meme where someone had stated “Prayers heard,” as if to suggest that God had heard and answered this …
